10 animation style prompts for Claude Code
We flew one kite through these 10 worlds in a single reel, made with Claude Code and Remotion. Each prompt describes the technique behind a world, so you can use it for your own idea.
1. Pixel Art
Chunky blocks and stepped motion, like an old video game.
Make a 4-second 1080x1920 Remotion video of [your subject] moving through [your scene], drawn only with SVG and React. Use a pixel art style: build everything from square cells on a 12px grid with crisp edges, a small limited palette and banded sky colours. Update the motion only 10 times a second so it steps instead of gliding.

2. Chalkboard
Chalk lines that draw themselves on a green board.
Make a 4-second 1080x1920 Remotion video of [your subject] moving through [your scene], drawn only with SVG and React. Use a chalkboard style: a dark green board with soft smudges, a wooden ledge and chalk sticks at the bottom. Reveal every outline with animated stroke-dashoffset. Use feTurbulence and feDisplacementMap for a dusty chalk edge, and change the seed about 8 times a second so the lines shimmer.

3. Neon Glow
Glowing outlines on a dark night with a retro sun.
Make a 4-second 1080x1920 Remotion video of [your subject] moving through [your scene], drawn only with SVG and React. Use a neon style: a near-black purple sky with stars, a large striped sun on the horizon and a cyan perspective grid floor that scrolls towards the camera. Draw thin bright outlines and add glow by layering two Gaussian blurs behind each line. Let a few lines flicker.

4. Comic Book
Thick ink, halftone dots, sun rays and a big sound effect.
Make a 4-second 1080x1920 Remotion video of [your subject] moving through [your scene], drawn only with SVG and React. Use a comic book style: thick black outlines, flat bold colours, halftone dot patterns made with SVG patterns, a rotating sunburst behind the subject and black speed lines. Pop in a jagged starburst holding one large sound word. Move at 12 frames a second and add a white panel border.

5. Flat Vector
Clean shapes and bright colours with no outlines.
Make a 4-second 1080x1920 Remotion video of [your subject] moving through [your scene], drawn only with SVG and React. Use a flat vector style: simple geometric shapes, solid bright colours and no outlines, with a soft half-shadow on buildings and trees. Scroll the layers at different speeds for depth, and add small moving details such as birds and traffic.

6. Paper Cut
Stacked paper layers with real shadows and depth.
Make a 4-second 1080x1920 Remotion video of [your subject] moving through [your scene], drawn only with SVG and React. Use a paper-cut style: build the scene from flat layers, each with its own soft drop shadow, plus a sunset sky of stacked paper circles. Add a light paper grain with feTurbulence. Move each layer at a different speed, on every second or third frame, for a handmade stop-motion feel.

7. Watercolour
Soft washes of paint bleeding over rough paper.
Make a 4-second 1080x1920 Remotion video of [your subject] moving through [your scene], drawn only with SVG and React. Use a watercolour style: warm paper with a grain texture, large overlapping colour washes distorted with low-frequency feTurbulence and feDisplacementMap, and multiply blending so the colours mix. Fade the washes in as if the paint is spreading, add a few small splatters, and keep a thin pencil outline on top.

8. Blueprint
A technical drawing that plots itself line by line.
Make a 4-second 1080x1920 Remotion video of [your subject] moving through [your scene], drawn only with SVG and React. Use a blueprint style: a deep blue sheet with a fine and a coarse grid, a white border and pale blue lines only. Reveal the drawing with stroke-dashoffset. Add dashed centre lines, construction circles, dimension marks, monospaced labels and a title block in the corner.

9. Soft Clay
Round, squishy shapes that look like modelling clay.
Make a 4-second 1080x1920 Remotion video of [your subject] moving through [your scene], drawn only with SVG and React. Use a soft clay style: pastel colours and very rounded shapes. Build one SVG filter that blurs the shape's alpha and passes it through feDiffuseLighting and feSpecularLighting so every flat shape looks puffy, then add a soft drop shadow. Move at 15 frames a second with a little squash and stretch.

10. Warli Folk Art
White figures on red-brown earth, inspired by Warli painting.
Make a 4-second 1080x1920 Remotion video of [your subject] moving through [your scene], drawn only with SVG and React. Use a style inspired by Warli painting from India: a textured red-brown mud background and only off-white shapes. Draw people from two triangles with stick limbs, and add triangle huts, a rayed sun, a triangle border and a circle of dancers. Move at 9 frames a second and add a slight brush wobble.
How to use them
- Open Claude Code in a new, empty folder.
- Copy a prompt and replace the two parts in square brackets with your own idea.
- Ask Claude Code to render the video, then describe any changes you want.
- To make a reel, ask for the same subject in several styles and join the clips with a wipe.
Your first result may need a few follow-up messages, and it will not match our reel exactly. Claude Code needs a Claude account, so check its current plans, and check Remotion's licence if you are making videos for a company.
